Tahoe Island Park

Heading out towards Camp Richardson on HWY 89 there is a smaller neighborhood tucked away to the right.   This family friendly neighborhood has about 400 homes sitting on an average of 7,000 square foot lots most of which were built in the 60’s and 70’s.   This neighborhood can be accessed from either 3rd street, by taking Tahoe Keys Blvd, or from a few roads connecting to Emerald Bay Road.   Many of these homes house primary residents as it is located near Tahoe Valley Elementary school. Those looking for a home in a quiet, flat, centrally located residential area, will gravitate toward the Tahoe Island Drive & Tahoe Island Park neighborhood. There are some small cabins, numerous ranch style homes and some larger newer construction. There are a number of properties that offer wonderful settings including backing to lagoons, meadows or lush forest. While there are successful vacation rentals here in this neighborhood, it seems to appeal more to the primary home buyer. One of the reason’s people are drawn to this neighborhood is its flat topography which in turn means easier winter maintenance. It is also makes life a little easier as it is located near restaurants, shopping, beaches, and major bike trails connecting all of South Lake Tahoe!
